This looked so much funnier and better in my head

Bourbon is confused, this strange looking rider just won't loosen the reins and at the same time keeps on giving him signs to walk on? Weird human.

Story
_{"Sophia, please. You can't just jump on a western trained horse like that, you've barely ever touched a western saddle!"
"Don't be such a pessimist. Western can't be that much of a difference compared to English, and besides, I'm only going to take him for a small ride." Sophia measured her stirrups and shortened them a bit more, frowning.
"And what if he freaks out? There's a reason why horses need to be retrained if they switch from a Western to an English discipline."
"Then I'll calm him down. I've been riding all my life, I know how to handle a horse."
"Showjumping, that is. Can't you just take one lesson at least?" Shaking his head, Jeroen combed Bourbon's forelock with his hand. 
"I will, once I start training him more seriously. Now stop complaining - shouldn't you be training Joey? I thought you wanted to beat me at the bareback race."
"Believe me, I will. Neither Eclipse nor Hozier can keep up with him, trained or not. Anyway, good luck falling." With a smirk on his face, Jeroen walked away as his sister climbed on her horse.}

Here's my failed attempt at human faces, stories, humor, and western saddles!  
This might be based on me a tiny bit xD. I've never really ridden Western in my life, but last year there was this stable in France very close to where I was staying where I could go for a trail ride. Now, to be very honest it wasn't really difficult because we only walked and trotted and the horses all followed each other no matter the rider's experience, but I had a really hard time letting go of my reins and the stirrups where quite a bit lower than I'm used to xD. It was fun though, but my horse probably thought I was drunk.
